Madinatul Ilm School offers Arabic classes for kids in Calgary — the language of the Quran — in a clear, simplified method designed for children and youth growing up in the West. Students begin with letters and their sounds, move on to reading with harakat, writing, and dictation, and grow into simple grammar and reading short stories.
What students learn
- Letters, their sounds, and their forms at the beginning, middle, and end of words
- Reading with harakat, then sentences and short stories
- Writing and dictation, from single words to paragraphs
- Simple grammar: plurals, pronouns, verb types, subject and object
